The family and I were at the Brandon Mall yesterday after one of her gymnastic competitions. Walking through the mall there was not a whole lot of watch pickings. The usual jewelry store with the usual Citizen, Seiko and Bulova collections. One place did have a few Tissot watches as well. The Mayor's did have a number of TAGS and Rolex including the new Deep Sea Dweller. The sales lady didn't seem real inclined to show it to me and that was fine. I cant afford it so it didn't break my heart.

The mall did have two Precision Time locations. Well.....I still gotta look.

They had a number of various watches marked down 50%. Now I know these are not fine Italian pieces as the name implies. I'm sure they are Chinese made.

I ended up finding a model they call the "Strumento" in black IP with orange markings and white tipped hands. It is a bit big at 50mm but plays a little smaller due to the hidden lugs.

As for the homage part. There is a brand out there call Manometro that I have always liked. The designer took clues form tire guages and/or blood pressure instruments.

Well this is the Sottomarino version of a similar watch. Presenting my new $70 beater. The Strumento.

I HONESTLY like the watch you got WAY WAY WAY better then the first 2 you posted. I like everything about the dial on the one you got better. I like the hands better also.

One question - is there a second hand on the one you got?

Either way - good pick up.

Very Sharp Looking Hobbit! Love the orange against the black. I also like the fact that it has enough features that make it really unique. Cool snag!

Hobbit, I think this Sottomarino Strumento is simply FANTASTIC !
What a GREAT watch all the way around, and for that price too ?!
That's pretty AWESOME imho !!! New beater-Sottomarino-Manometro "homage?" 803574 I mean the look of this watch
alone does seem like it would rival many higher end watches, just
like the one's you are comparing the Sottomarino here to. Really is
something how this watch looks ! Neat stuff !!! That Precision Time
has some very interesting watches by the way. Have seen many of
the Sottomarino's at their store before, and always thought they
were EXTRA eye-catching. This one is no exception ! cyclops Just the
dial alone has more than a few COOL things going on. The colors
used are SCARY good. That black and orange is one of THE best
combinations on a watch imho. Plus Sottomarino did everything
just right, and didn't over do it at all. The way the numbers are
on the outside, along with inside of the watch is especially unique.
It's something how they left the bottom part of the dial open and
numberless like that. It's again a uniquely cool feature. How about
the hash marks on the outer as well as inner part of the dial also ?!
That is something different as well !!! Those hands are excellent
also, with not only the shape, but the white, which helps make
for a pilots/racer sort of theme. Smile ..Another intriguing part of the
dial has to be how the outer part of the dial is angled just slightly.
It not only looks INCREDIBLE, but also makes the dial have a multi-
leveled 3D feel. Especially with the middle area being lower as a
result. Again it's something you might expect to see in a higher
end brand, and it's pretty cool to see it here. Would also like to
add that the case on your new Strumento is off the charts. That
large round almost UFO shape is TREMENDOUS Hobbit ! ..The shape
alone is impressive enough, but the knurling is an unexpected touch
as well ! ..The smooth part under that shows just how thick this case
is too. It even looks like the crown lowers down to become flush with
the case. THAT is NEAT ! ..Even seeing that cool Sottomarino logo
right there to be enjoyed as well !!! ..Have to honestly say that this
watch surprises you at every turn. From the unique look, and style,
to the impressive details, and quality. This is a watch to be EXTREMELY
happy with I think. I even like how perfectly the strap works with the
watch, along with how it fits right into the case ! ..GREAT watch here
Hobbit ! ..Congrats and of course..ENJOY this one !!! Very Happy

Excellent photos here also Hobbit !

I actually like this watch! Not sure how the 50mm would look, but it is still a cool looking dial. Congrats!!

Good looking watch dude!

Can you change the strap if you like? I think something rubber would look good on that one?

Awesome pics too!

Enjoy!

I would think a strap change is possible. 24mm I think so there are a lot of possibilities. It might be tough putting something that is really thick though.
