I'm not going to go into a lot of comparison, we all know where this watch draws its lines from...

That said, and having owned it's "inspiration per se," this watch can definitely hold its own...

283 grams with the bracelet, Tungsten Carbide, and...tough as nails. Not ONE scratch from sitting the watch on them...

Sweet watch Alan, you mix a strong design with a incredible alloy its a watch that will last a lifetime. Most of the time its not the camera its the person taking the pictures. Your pictures look pretty freakin good, I'm glad you didn't buy a new camera.

Definitely some "Heavy Metal" there Alan! I like the mirror polish look. Have always been a fan of that style. Enjoy!

Funny you should ask...

I did send it back TWICE due to carbide still on the inner part of the case and some dust under the dial...

Unlike the guy at Ocean 7, Chris Weigard at LUM-TEC was the BEST to work with. He apologized PROFUSELY for the issues and paid for all the shipping.

Kinda hard to tell in my pics but he put a matt finish on mine too, so now a one of a kind, here are his pics of what he did...

...original dial on the right, new on the left:

Thanks Greg...

...I still may get a new one. The Canon S95, supposedly has very big sensor for a point and shoot camera.

I am taking this week off so may test it out...

Whoa, what an EXCELLENT looking watch Alan !!! Very Happy Tough as Nails... 46145 ..I'm glad you
got this one checked off your list now. I know you have been eyeing this
one for a long time now ! cyclops ..Really does look like it was well worth the
wait though from everything seen here ! By the way, the sitting in nails
idea is EXTREMELY cool imho !!! It's very appropriate for the toughness,
as well as near invincible finish of the watch. Wouldn't want to do that
with your average watch, but this Tungsten is just SUPER ! ..One thing
that is very noticeable is that even though the Tungsten is so strong,
along with scratch resistant, it honestly LOOKS SPECTACULAR ! Tough as Nails... 803574 Tough as Nails... 803574
The way the Tungsten reflects the light is very different than most steel
watches, even the polished ones. You really can see the comparison to
a liquid metal like Ron said. It's almost not of this Earth ! alien ..You end up
enjoying the bracelet, and case just as much as the dial on this one, and
THAT'S pretty GREAT ! ..Speaking of the bracelet, it's really neat that you
now have a bracelet which is just as cool as the one you had wanted for
your Panerai a while back. This one looks TERRIFIC in Tungsten though,
while at the same time looking very intricate, classy, AND sporty. Looks
like Lum-Tec did an outstanding job. Same goes for the case, and bezel.
The way it bends and twists light around the various angles, and edges
is stunning !!! Also have to say, that because of this, you stop, and take
in more of the watch. Even how the crown protection area, and how it
rises up around the crown itself is especially eye-catching. You genuinely
can see, as well as understand how this watch has no problem being
compared to the Panerai you had. I think it MORE than holds it's own !
In fact when you realize just how cool, and classy the dial is as well.
You find that this watch has it ALL ! cheers That deep black is REALLY
elegant, but still injects some aggressive attitude in to match the whole
unique Tungsten theme. Also liking the shifting number sizes that Lum-Tec
did here, along with the exceptional hand style. It's great how the second
hand stands out TOO ! Can't forget about this lume which also stands out
as expected ! ..AMAZING stuff !!! Hey, almost forgot Alan ! ..Even the crown
with it's LT on it is just Super ! ..I'm beginning to think this watch may actually
have Super Powers ! ..So be careful !!! Smile ..Seriously, though ! Congrats on
having this one now ! ..I Hope you really ENJOY it !!!

Super pictures, AND watch here !

I'm a little late to this party, saw your Lum-Tec today in the WUW section and thought "he finally got himself a Lum-Tec"!

Then when I was reading through this thread read that it has to go back 2X, thought oh boy. Knowing Chris, it doesn't suprise me that he took care of you the way he did; that is how he treats all of his customers.

I stopped by to see him last week to drop off a watch for him to do some modding on for me and tried on about 6 different watches in his show room.

The 500M diver is one sick watch, I'll try and get a couple of picks when I go back to pick the watch up when he is done.

Glad you finally got one and that it is to your satisfaction, Lum-Tec is a great company to deal with.

Have you taken the bracelet off and tried to put it back on, was reading over at WUS that the lum tec tungsten watch lug holes dont line up very well and its a bitch to get the bracelet on! Maybe they have fixed that issue and since you're not a rubber or leather guy it really shouldnt matter!
