| i think 2011 is going to be a slow year (watch wise) for me. ive got a breitling on order and i would like to pick up a german made watch, other than that im content with what i have. ive sold off quite a few watches to get my collection down. i think i still have around 20 which is 10-12 to many. i just got tired of having so many watches which most had only been worn a couple times. i will be buying some more custom straps though, i have an ostrich leg strap being made right now from jeanna at stone creek for my rgm. putting a new strap/bracelete on your watch will make it seem like a brand new watch. well thats most likely going to be how my year goes. what about all of you, any ideas what your going for this year??? thanks steve | |

| Having retired a couple months ago and now on a semi-fixed income, I suspect 2011 will be quiet for me, too. I was lucky to pick up several personal "grails" in 2010. However, by eBay sales have generated a modest "war chest" from which I can still make at least one major (for me) addition to my collection. Not sure what it will be, but I've been looking at the early '70s Speedmaster Mark 4.5. | |

| Yeah, I think there comes a point where things SLOW down because you REALLY like what you have now, "the buy everything, feel out period" is over, we now know our TASTES better and have watches that fit that niche... ____________________________________ | |

| Well, I'm certain there will be a couple out there for me in 2011. But no where near the number of 2010 and certainly not prior to that. Like Tom I also had a grail whirlwind in 2010. So, I'm also settling down - but not out. | |

| Really great question Steve ! ..It's awesome seeing where everyone is within the hobby, and what they might be looking for this year. For myself, I'm honestly all over the place. There are just TOO MANY nice watches, and cool watch companies out there. What happens with me is I have a bunch of watches that I like, and then every year end up finding more, and more watches to add to the list. On top of that I end up getting interested in all kinds of watch companies, so that adds even more watches into the fold. Even have been looking at various vintage watches as of late to tell the truth. Guess for me it's hard to pinpoint one direction to go in. Would like to add some more automatics this year though, since I really don't have too many, other than my few seikos, and Oceanaire. Basically going to just see how it goes, and have some fun trying to figure it out this year ! ____________________________________ | |

| I've been around the watch block too...tried reducing the herd after a few Omegas and still have around 20 watches in the kit....! yikes! haha!.....then I made a trade with a fellow AWF member ..my G Shock GA-100 for his Chinese Panerai replica haha...(incoming)... When I return to Vancouver Canada next month, I will be looking into this fun German made watch with a VW dial design! Totally frivolous impulse if I do get it! bus_dbr by thianwong1, on Flickr | |

Would be neat if you did end up getting one of those sir. haha..good memory then! One of our forum members showed it to us...and since I did drive several old Bugs and a Bus in Germany during student day vacation back in the 70s, i thought it a fun memoriabilia watch to have! hehehe! Definitely would be a memorable watch for you Thian ! Especially since you had driven those Bugs, and Buses like that. They don't look like other watches that I can think of. I hope you can pick one up, because they are just TOO COOL sir. ____________________________________ | |

| I get nothing but complaints from wifey. Her family all lives in Greece so anything other than food is wasteful. Damn crappy euros and their even crappier socialist states. Proud to be American! Sad to be a non-watch buying "Mer-kin". | |

| My 2011 will be quality over quantity.. for now I will confine myself to the models between 100 and $ 300. I accept any suggestion. ps:The biggest difficulty here in Brazil is to get good prices as those charged in the United States .. watches that cost $ 100 on American sites, cost more than $ 300 here in Brazil .. this is the big problem.
