Mailman delivered a vintage Caravelle cushion diver today!

The mailman brought me this Caravelle automatic from 1975 that's rated to 666 feet. Although the case is only 37mm x 42mm,
the cushion style wears larger. The black and red diver bezel is bi-directional. It's equipped with a Caravelle-signed cal.
11UOACB automatic with 17 jewels, Incabloc shock protection, and operates at 21600 bph with a 46-hour power reserve
rating. It's based on the AS2066 ebauche. Both the large crown and the vintage folded-steel bracelet are embossed "Caravelle."
You'll note that both the caseback and the movement rotor are engraved "N5," which is Bulova's code for 1975.

It has a few scratches and small dings, but what else would you expect from a 36 year-old diver!

This is one especially cool Caravelle here Tom ! ..Once in a while have been
fortunate enough to see, and learn about similar models on ebay, but this one is
EXTRA NICE. The whole shape of the case (Cushion) as you pointed out is just
beautiful imho. While the way the entire watch seems to have this exceptional, and
eye-catching flow to it, is PHENOMENAL. That great looking movement, along with
the various embossings, and engravings, on the watch is the icing on the cake too.
While those few small dings add even further character, as well as charm to the
watch sir ! Congrats to you on adding it to your collection. ..It's always so great
learning about watches like this Tom. The style, the movement, even the "N5" that
you talk about is FANTASTIC to find out about. Honestly looks like when
Caravelle made this watch, they did everything right. There once again seems to be
a REAL flow to the way this watch comes together. You have the cushion case that
brings you this squared off look that really looks excellent. It at times stands out
all by itself with it's curves, AND solid build. At the same time though, it has this very
elegant flow about it with it's tapering, as well as finishes. Even the manner in which
it sets off the bezel, along with dial, and bracelet is unbelievable. ..The black with
red bezel combination brings in the perfect dive watch theme, and the give, and
take with the red, and black on the dial is REALLY something to see as well ! First
it is the extremely deep black look of the dial that works flawlessly. Then it is the
small red accents on the markers that are out of this world. They, along with the
various cool combinations on the dial, and bezel keep that flow going ! For example,
the small dot markers added near the inside of the hour markers, and how they play
off of the larger dot marker on the second hand. Or the extra wide hands, and how
they reflect the rectangular style of the markers as well. It's all part what makes this
Caravelle so enjoyable, and so cool. There are the small details like this. Like the
signed movement, embossings, and engravings. Like the way, the terrific bracelet
connects to the case. Then there are the larger, more noticeable details like we
talked about with the case, bezel, and dial that when all added together, create a
flawless flow to the watch. From top to bottom, as well as inside to out.
This Caravelle gives you all of the vintage charm you could ever want in a watch.
While doing it in a VERY VERY COOL way at every step ! Congratulations Tom !!!
