Arrival: Omega Aqua Terra On the Rocks and On Ice

The 2nd Omega picked up this week. Near new condition. I had only 10 minutes so went outside and grabbed a few quick shots in the back yard. Winter in Canada, sun low in the sky makes for difficult shadows but I got a couple of interesting shots.

Thanks for all the nice comments. I'd prefer to get this watch with the blue hands but this is the one I found a deal on.

Case is 39mm across 8 to 2 oclock. It looks a bit bigger than that to me because the dial is big because I wear diver watches with wider bezel about 70% of the time.

I'll probably try some more shots of a few of my watches on the rocks and on the ice. I didn't have time to set up proper lighting control. If I can stand the low temperatures outside this week I'll set up some diffusers and reflectors to reduce shadows and reflections.

By the way, the ice is just a slab I made in a bucket. I had a few inches of water then let it freeze until I had about an inch thick. A tapered plastic bucket works well because it has flex to get the slab out without breaking. I didn't expect the bubbles but I like them. When I took the watch off my wrist and placed it on the ice the heat of my wrist in the watch melted the top layer of ice and then it refroze with the watch slightly stuck.

No bezel sure does make a watch wear a LOT bigger. My vintage Glashutte is very much the same.

That would have made me freak a little. AHHH!! My watch is frozen!!!
