Happy holidays to everyone here at XMT. My family and I just got back homefrom a week and a half at Disney World and the beach. We had a great time and for the most part the weather was warm. This was the first time we have been away from home and other family at Christmas and I must say I kinda liked it. Think it may become a tradition. Anyway, below are the watches that went with me and all got wrist time. Suprisingly enough all are Seikos (just on a seiko kick lately). I do usually take Seikos, Invictas, etc. with me when traveling because if they get lost or stolen, they are easily replaced.

What do you guys take with you when traveling and how do you pack them? Mine is just a modified pistol case.

Back from the mouse's house OntheWrist265

I have to say that I spent a lot of time looking at other peoples wrist. I saw a couple of really nice watches to include a 2 tone, blue dialed submariner and a PAM. Suprisingly I saw a lot of Invictas at DW. I don't know if it was because I was in Florida or if they are that popular. I never see Invictas here at home. I remember seeing one dive watch that I couldn't identify but it was awesome looking. Nice size and looked like it was a high end watch. I'm sure I creeped the guy out because I stalked him until I was in a position to identify the watch. IT WAS AN INVICTA 43mm PRO DIVER! Now I said that I would NEVER buy another Invicta but after seeing that watch I may have to rethink that position.

I missed hanging out with you guys and I hope you all had a good holiday!

Glad you had a good time. I never get to go anywhere, but on the rare occasion I do, I just bring what I'm wearing. I also stare Manson-style at other peoples watches trying to identify. I have come to the conclusion that the vast majority of people I see wear inexpensive watches. Not putting them down, just realizing that very few people are watch people.

Welcome back. We do the same thing for the week of Thanksgiving. Glad you had a good trip.

Nice case. I usually wear 1 watch on vacation so the wrist is its natural storage Back from the mouse's house Icon_wink

Did you hit the watch stores and outlets in Orlando? Back from the mouse's house Icon_bounce

I'm glad you had a good time and good weather. I usually take about 6+1 on the wrist but my collection changes so much I can't tell you which ones I take.

The OM on a watchadoo was inspired by you Doc. You posted pics of your monster not long before I left. Tragically, I didn't visit any outlets. I didn't know there were outlets until I got home and read a post here about them. Back from the mouse's house Kopfschuettel

Just like buttha. It does feel like the 2 were made for each other. I really like the seamless way the bracelet fits to the case. Great combonation!

Glad you like it. I do like the Seiko Monster bracelet on the OM but the Watchadoo really is much more substantial. Makes me wonder what the Anvil with fitted end links is like....... Back from the mouse's house Icon_scratch

I like that watch case. Good choice of watches for a week away.

I usually travel with 3 watches, 1 on my wrist and 2 in my dual travel case. My Tag Heuer Link Chrono is most often on my wrist while on the plane because it changes time zones so nicely. It also serves as an accurate quartz time reference for any mechanicals I take. Then like you, I usually take affordable watches - Invicta, Seiko, or Zodiac - things that can be replaced if lost.

I know what you mean. Most of the people I saw were wearing inexpensive watches as well. I was a little suprised that it seemed like not many people under 25 even wears a watch. I guess they just use their cell phones for the time. Back from the mouse's house Confused

Ken, sounds like a nice new tradition!

My family is going down in may for 10 days (5 in WDW and 5 in Vero Beach). I can't wait to see my 3 year old daughter go crazy for the characters!! My 1 year old will probably be a terror by that point Back from the mouse's house Icon_biggrin .

Fortunately, I get a huge discount through work...but even if I didn't, the trip would be worth every penny for the memories!

Not sure if I will be bringing a watch since I won't really care what time it is...I just don't know if I would be able to take not having one on for that long. Maybe I will get a G-Shock or something...

That sounds like a great vacation plan. It is well worth the money for the memories. your daughter will be absolutely amazed. It truly is a magical place. 5 days is about right for DW. The 5 days at Vero will be a good recovery.

Oh yeah, not wearing a watch for 10 days is heresy and will get you banned.

Thanks Ron. I just got that one from a member at WUS before leaving on my trip. It's all brushed with a silver sunray Doxa style dial. It has a sapphire crystal and has been relumed. I'll post some pics tomorrow. I just haven't had a chance to photo it yet.

I aways carry 4 watches, one on the wrist, and 3 of 4 slots filled in my carry case, that way I always have room for a new one. You know they sell watches at Disney right? Here's a one I picked up to remember my trip there 3 years ago:

As for watches when I travel, depends on how long and where. Generally, I take one dress watch and one sports watch.

Glad you had fun in Florida. Come back again. We appreciate your patronage. Seriously. Tourism is the engine that drives our economy.

Hey Ken..great to see you !..Glad to have you back ! Back from the mouse's house Icon_cheers That looks like
an excellent way of taking watches along with you. Kind of James Bond
like..do those watches have any cool lasers that shoot from them or
anything ? Back from the mouse's house Suspect ..Seriously that is a nice way of transporting watches !
For myself..I don't really travel much either !..However, this looks like
the way to go !..Otherwise I'd be carrying a bunch of little watch boxes
around ! Back from the mouse's house Icon_smile
