| One thing I have noticed about XMT is that there aren't NEW WATCHES posted every day, and that's not a bad thing.
I like the fact that we see a couple new pick ups a week and aren't seeing 15 of the SAME watch.
Here, when someone gets a new watch, they are kind of like the STAR OF THE DAY and their watch gets a lot of attention.
Yeah, that's cool... ____________________________________

| I agree Alan. I think our members have outgrown the 'I HAVE TO HAVE THAT WATCH BECAUSE' of whatever BS they bought into. I think for the most part we are looking at different avenues to purchase and are more particular in our choices. Just my take on it. |

Me too - XMT has made me realize a whole new class of watches that I now must have. So far... Deep Blue Seiko FrankenMonster Victorinox And.....ordered a Zinex Heliox last night. So I think I'm somewhat caught up and can slow down - for a while anyway.

| I think there are many many layers to XMT ! Showing off new watches is one intriguing part of the forum. However, it's only one piece that makes up the XMT puzzle. Much of the time spent involves seeing new things, hearing about new watches, products, companies, up to date news and information. It also involves learning about what was terrific years ago, may it be a vintage watch, company or person. We talk about innovations, and see some of the coolest watches out there. There really aren't any boundaries and THAT'S what makes things SO different here ! We can get new watches, or not..We can take great pictures, talk about new watches, old watches, BIG watches, small watches, watches from all over the world, and basically anything else you could think of ! In the end..there aren't any limits really and our topics are only limited by our imaginations ! What's probably THE most important layer of XMT is it's people, it's members and friends ! ____________________________________ | |

Yeah, that's cool... That's the difference between discreet collecting and obsessive buying |

The cool thing is, if someone still loves their Invictas and prefer to utilize the value pay option, we're OK with that. They aren't treated like 3rd World Refugees because they still have the fever. They'll eventually grow being here. I think that's what this forum is based on. The wealth of knowledge here is phenominal considering we are a small forum, regardless of what some other people may think. |

| . . . . It is nice to be more discerning about purchases now.
There has been such a wide variety of makes marched through here, that I get a good look at what is truly out there to be owned. And it is a far more genuine sense of happiness towards the other guys that post a new watch . . . rather than the old " blahblahblah, give it plenty of . . . .", I am much more appreciative of the selections you guys make.
The VERY best thing here is that the "Daily Deal" syndrom has ceased. That is what messed me up in my collection. Out of 40 or 50 watches . . . . there are actually only less than a dozen I am really attached to. I feel far better about the few I have bought since landing here, than the many I bought before . . . . |

| I too really like not having the "ok, it's monday - how many people got the OTV", followed by 8 billion "i did" with ZERO pics! I love the new watch section! I like not only seeing new watches, but hearing guys' excitement and what they like about the watch, why they bought it, seeing their pics and wrist shots - good stuff, and i think that's what watch forums are all about! |

| Here's my take on the subject. Where else can you see sooooo many different types and brands of watches. Where can you get help with taking lume shots and doing mods. Where can you get such objective opinions about different watches and watch companies. Where else can you learn about how watches are manufactured. Where else can you find out where to get great deals on so many different watch related items. And lets not even get started on all the great pictures of Mods from different people........
This is the greatest watch forum around and the greatest membership of any forum....... Gentlemen.....I am honored to be a member!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
