What's going on here?

Why a I not able to send PM's anymore?
I realize that I am not as active as I was before but does that warrant a WatchGeek like penallty?
I am a member of a few other forums that I post infrequently at , but have not had my PM priviledges revoked.
I would normally have directed this to a person of authority,but due to my restricted (ala WG) status I cannot.

Not a penalty. Since January, you have not been participating at all in the forum...you have not logged on or posted. The administrative team felt that since you had not been back, you were no longer interested in participating in our community and did have the need to use the XMT PM system.

With that being said, we feel that this forum is still one of the most liberal forums out there and we have very little rules. We have never banned a member, deleted a post or thread without the OP's permission/consent and there is virtually no moderation.

2 questions:
1.) So you have to maintain a certain post count to have PM privileges here? I've been a member at WUS for years, and probably have not posted there in many months, and still have all member priveleges.

2.) And is it okay for member, who as far as I know is neither an administrator or moderator here, to refer another member in that fashion without consequence?

I've been on these forums for about 6 years now, and find this all very curious, as are we not supposed to be and act like adults?

If you're not a part of the forum and have voiced your distain for every action we take and keep throwing the WG's and MD crap around why in the world would you be able to use the pm system? Now i think synmike might have been a mistake as he is a active and contributing member! Comparing XMT to WUS is not "apples to apples." The place is so big they have no idea who is or is not posting. Here, the atmosphere is much smaller and we can see who is participating and contributing. As stated earlier, why PM here if you are not contributing?

Apparently there's been some stuff "behind the scenes" that the general membership is not aware of.
I guess it's up to each of us what to make of it, and what effect it will have on their participation.

What I have never understood at any forum is why there is always someone that does nothing but bitch for the sake of bitching. It's like there is always someone that lives to bitch about ANYTHING from the smallest thing to the largest thing. There have been TOS for a while now. Know it, love it , learn it and live it!

Several guys I used to have a lot of respect for have maybe not completely sold out but have gotten a little full of themselves and are acting like power tripping titty babies saying: "Well... Alan you mention in another thread something about "a handful of discontents", have you forgotten? This is how you got this place. A handful of "Malcontents" got together and started this place. How does it feel to be on the other side of the line?

If you would look at all of my post you would see that 95% were positive and contributed something to the forum but I know WG BS when I see it.

I'm not sure I can follow the reasoning here. If you look at the member list there are 110 members of this forum who have'nt visited since January or ever. Of those, virtually all of them have PM privileges. According to the member list information, the following cannot be contacted by PM. Flyskate, Foghorn, Accu-Rat, watchcollector1968, Ditchdoc, AO, turd ferguson, and WatchNoob. If you are going to limit peoples privileges as retribution for misdeeds just say so.

Mark, please read Alan's other post. All PM priviledges were reinstated.

Ken, kinda funny you show up when the first trouble thread since the TOS were posted! Might be the first time you've logged in but you sure must have been lurking to jump on this one! The one thing you forget is we werent always complaining about everything at watchgeeks! maybe about invicta CS but thats about it,we or at least i never complained how they ran the forum and i'm sure none of the others did either! Now you and a couple of your buddies that just showed up have nothing good to say about how this place is being run, the funny thing is this place hasnt missed a beat since you've been gone and even a few member are back because all the BS has been gone! whats next a post from Noob, here is a great idea, enjoy the forum or just dont use it but to be fair to all the member that do enjoy it dont try and ruin it for everyone else! this place was running just fine when you were still a WG and it will be doing the same whether you visit or not! I have now seen the other post reinstating PMs. As for the statement above, I hope you're not referring to me. I had zero problems with this place until the team started beating down any dissension and threads started getting locked. Now we learn that certain members privileges have been limited. Instead of just f&*^king with people just ban them or fess up to why its been done. Thats how I feel about it and if it earns me a beatdown I've got broad shoulders.

You sound like Brad my friend. LOL! I'm not sure what place you are talking about where 2 members got banned. I was not aware. But no, you usually don't here me complain at other sites because I just don't see the hypocracy at those places. I really don't know them or their past. You guys, I know. It did seem somewhat overbearing to restrict PMS for certain active members without explanation, but as at all of the forums I frequent, this is not my forum and I either accept what the "leaders" do, or not. Pretty simple I think.

Why does this "stuff" always happen on all of these forums? As I suggested earlier, there's things that apparently went on that are not obvious to us all. Why not just be upfront and clear the air and those that wish to stay can and others can move on. Why say one thing, defend it, allow others who disagree to be castigated, and then reverse course? What caused that change in decisions?

The only thing I found truly reprehensible is Sean resorting to name calling, like a child.

Well, since you went there, Moderators and Admins at WG are identified as such. I realize I don't have to like everything about any forum but is there really no room for a difference of opinion? Maybe what surprises me the most is that this place was started by people banned from WG, so I was told and expected this place to be different. Recently, things have come to light which cause me to question the direction XMT is going in. I don't feel as if I've been disrepectful in voicing my concerns, yet all I hear as

Wondering about my reply? well there was a number of words I could have used that might have been more harsh but what I posted I meant.No apology from me about this.I read the rules here and try to stay within them.But knowing how forums operate from a owner and moderators perspective and repeated offenses from the same people gets really old even for me.how many different ways can you ban someone for the same reasons? we are supposed to be discussing watches.most of us are on a number of forums.I'd prefer that I stay on those forums without having comments made here get me into trouble somewhere else.but some people will only go for the negative threads and live for the conflict that it causes.In my book, thats called trolling.I stopped brand bashing in december and don't have any plans to do it again.It certainly didn't get me anywhere now did it?

Mark i have considered you a friend and mentor and dont like it when we dont see eye to eye! WG's was started becasue of things at BDWF but you still have a good time there! we dont want trouble and anything can be talked about the problems is fog has been gone for weeks and the places has been running great, it bugs him he starts something and watches it blow! We value your opinion and i think if you remember i looked you up and let you know about this place, thats how much i wanted you to be apart of it! you can pm me about accurat and noob and i can give you the reasons they have no pm's! We want you here and you bring a ton of knowledge but to think we are doing anything wrong is just silly! dont you think it's strange the fog and ken decided to post up on the same day, because it drives them crazy this place is running better than ever with nothing but watch talk, just like you want !
