1980s Beijing Red Dial

Even on Taobao, red centered lacquer and fade dialed watches are not common. Martin_B and Chascomm, both have beautiful specimens, and I've been hoping for one ever since I first saw one on Taobao--back when I didn't know how to get it. And before I figured it out, the first I saw disappeared into some other lucky collector's grasp--and probably stayed in China.

Ah, but persistence pays off ! Joining me today in scenic and still frozen Peace River Alberta is a Beijing ZB-1 in essentially NOS shape (my guess is its a late 1980s piece).

one, is of the mesmerizing kind ! The deep red is just
simply spectacular. I really like how they did that ! Also
like that case back as well as movement ! There is alot
of intricate detail that makes up a great looking watch
