| Hey Gang. I've been wearing a garbage Sotomarino Pilotare Would like a real (reliable) Flieger at a reasonable price. Preferences< $1k > 44mm (so Sinn & Fortis are out ) 3 Hand (fighting hard to resist 7750s) 9 eater seconds Big onion style crown See through case back Automatic - considering Unitas (don't own one yet) Not crazy about the furnace blue hands over black - but could get used to it. On the Gnomonwatch site I noticed Aristo and Archimede. Seem reasonable but don't know much about them. Any good? BTW a couple of the Steinharts look pretty good as well The Sotomarino I currently have - Like everything about it except accuracy (Crazy Fast) | |

| Strangely, given my aviation interests and activities over the years, the Fliegers have never been a favorite of mine. However, I have several friends who have Steinhart Aviator watches and they RAVE about the customer service, the fact that you can get them customized from the maker with no real effort (different crowns, etc), and they're solid well build pieces that wear well. I'd stay away from the Junkers given reports over the years on other fora. |

| Outstanding choices, I love the Debaufre, Stowa and Archimedes. Definitely go 3 hand with or without the 9 eater. I went budget and picked this up from eBay with a Miyota auto and put it on a Debaufre strap, not bad for a cheapo: |

| Thanks Guys - Great Stuff. Good to know I'm not too far off the mark.
Great links Tom - Thanks. Steinhart 7750 chronos were verrry tempting - maybe next time.
Really leaning towards Steinhart Nav-B for domed crystal, 9 eater, crown, and 47mm. Course I need to consider Sean's insight on Unitas care/handling. Archimede definetly a contender - from Sean's great pics. Aristo appears to be out.
Speaking of Sean - Nice family of Fliegers you've got there. Nothing really wrong with my Sotto other than crazy fast and not a bona fide Flieger from a reputable company like Stowa, etc. Really like to find my way to the ultimate best source of what ever I'm interested in. My motto - Buy the best you can possibly afford, or just be ready to buy it again.
So Stowa and Luca would be ideal if they were a tad larger. Will however, try to demagnetize it - hairspring adjustment is outta my depth. I think it's an 8215
Thanks again ALL!
