| Just bought this NOS G Shock DW9000 Commemorative to Hawaii Surfing. Casio had many LTD models to spotlight world events, sporty or scientific....Back in 2004 I would never have bought this type, more into stealth and the Masters of G series big suckers.....but at $40.00usd, I couldn't refuse haha! the nylon/resin band is good for this hot spell in Japan now at 32C...! | |

| What a GREAT G Thian ! That is a GREAT price too ! The dial on this one looks like it's alive with that one sub-dial almost looking like an eye there ! The other sub-dial looks very futuristic as well. While telling the time seems to be really easy with the main readout also. Also liking the extraterrestrial shape of the case, along with all of the different features that seem to bulge out from the case, and near the lug area. The four metal balls are interesting as well, and the color of the watch is extremely unique too. Almost looks like a metallic blue, with some lighter blue accents around. It's nice becauseit kind of reminds you of water, or the ocean, and I guess that makes sense since it is a special edition for Hawaii surfing ! Seems like one ESPECIALLY cool vintage G-Shock Thian ! It's easy to understand how addictive these watches can be. They have a tough reputation, look like they come from another planet, and just honestly seem FUN !..It's nice that you were able to pick this one up. Congratulations, and I hope you ENJOY your new G !..Phenomenal picks as usual too !!!! ____________________________________ | |

| Nice! I have a beat up DW-9000 laying around, still running great and haven't had to change the battery in over 3 years now. |

If you can find it, what is the color of your DW9000? the black stealth model with nylon strap was once an edition the French navy had issued to its Frogman back in the mid 90s!! collectible! Thinking about the battery...hmmmm ...my find is NOS meaning original battery...after 13 years, the backlight still glows strongly! Is this possible after 13 years!!!!

| Yes, Tom, as per your usual fine scrutiny, many Gs have subtle things about them.. Under my loupe, the paint job is not metal flaked but does have very fine texture to it. Back in the 90s, some guys didn't like the SS studs and stealthed them out, Stealth being the trend back then. There is a classic torture test done by a French fellow on his DW9052 and after his posting, the DW9052 became a small niche cult watch! haha! My Dw9000 is a sport variation of the 9000 module.... | |

I'm glad you found your DW9000 !!! ____________________________________

| IIRC there was an engraving on the back marking it as being for the French Navy. |
