| I have sold ~ 30 watches. In each sales ad, I typically start with a sentence or two about why I'm selling (often times, "just too big for my wrist"). The more sales ads I see, though, the less and less I care why a watch is for sale. In fact, some of the "reasons" stated actually annoy me. Am I the only one? | |

| No, you are not the only one. It Bugs the heck out of me. I think some of the reasons are made up. I think it would be up to the buyer (if he/she is interested) to ask the seller in a pm or email why for the sale Romeo? LOL. I don't think there needs to be any initial explanation (whether real or made up) in the sales post. | |

| I've done both. I think it boils down to you don't like the watch anymore or you need the money. Possibly for another purchase to feed this habit. |

| I really hate to part with this one... I have bills to pay... I will regret this... Yeah, I don't need to know why you are selling your watch, just is it in good condition! ____________________________________ | |

| I think sometimes people want to give reasons for selling a watch to let everyone know that there is nothing wrong with the watch they are selling ! ..That way we feel better that we are just buying a watch "that someone doesn't wear anymore", or is selling in "order to buy another watch." ..Just a thought ! ____________________________________ | |

| Good question. IMO I don't really care why they are selling it, only care about condition. The same goes for my sale posts, never explain why I am selling it, only describe condition.
The reason that I do not add it to my sales posts is that I don't want to give someone a reason to pass it by. They obviously like the looks or features, it is up to them to decide whether they like it after purchase. Everybody is different, so the watch will be good and/or bad in different ways.
Just my take... ____________________________________ M A R K

| Ahh, y'all forgot one....
CHASING A GRAIL!
Sorry, maybe it's been used here....but that overused excuse just chafes my nuts. Every time I see it, I'm reminded of all the guys with signs along the freeway on-ramps with signs telling me how they are Vietnam veterans who lost their home in the recession and will work for food. Somebody sees something, figures, "wow, that sounds cool" and next thing ya know, everybody and their mother is out chasing a friggin' grail. Kinda like a dog chasing a firetruck...ya wonder, what'll they do when they catch it?
And this ain't a knock on vets, just the douchbags claiming to be one... |
