Blowing off the dust from the attic, diggin' thru some stuff and unsure if this was ever brought out. Don't know why I never wore this much but have had it for over a year. It was one of those things where I saw glimpses of it on the web and Boom! you get that 'fever' and start hunting it down. So much to my surprise after I fell head over heels trying to obtain it, and once I got it and admired it, wore it for a few days then back it languishes as a bench warmer. Ever have watches that you feel that way about? Good enough to be a starter but ultimately just listening in from the sidelines hoping its number gets called, always relegated to the second team though no fault of its own?

TAG Heuer 1964 Jack Heuer re-edition with the legend's sig etched into the case back, only 1964 made, and were originally released in 2004 or thereabouts. I am a big fan of these retro-vintages and IMO it's the best one TAG came out with, and arguably their most coveted over time. Very comfy on the wrist and at 40mm it'll disappear underneath a shirt cuff easily - and the spits of lume are surprisingly persistent. Multiple applications of SL I'm guessing will do that. The chrono function is almost column wheel-esque in its positive action while the watch itself because it lacks an hourly totalizer will keep track of but 30 minutes. But that dial with the pewter gray chrono sub registers and the racing red seconds hand evoke memories of countless late 60's Autavias and Breitlings that went before it, which was a main reason why I wanted one, this synergy between the urbane design aesthetic with a hint of racing appeal it harkens, married to modern day sophistication in manufacturing. No slop with QC on this guy - TAG put it together well...

Thanks for looking, and sorry for the truncated write-up.

Now THIS is OFF the CHARTS Waruilewi !!! A hidden treasure - it's a TAG 46145 ..What a NICE rediscovery
of this Tag treasure ! Smile Very cool how things like this can happen in the
hobby. It's like you have probably just opened it for the very first time,
and just found a whole new appreciation for the watch. Pretty FANTASTIC
sir on so many different levels. Congratulations on this one both then and
now !!! A hidden treasure - it's a TAG 803574 ..That retro styling is more than alittle impressive if you ask me.
Really does bring you back to the time, as well as the feel of these watches
years ago. Can't say enough how eye-catching this vibrant white dial is
together with those gray sub-dials. What an excellent combination that
screams both elegance, along with sportiness imho. These are kinds of
watches that draw you in with their flawless look, and second to none
craftsmanship ! Very Happy Just looking at the case here with it's simple, clean
look, and it honestly is beautiful. That polishing seems to reflect everything
that surronds it in the coolest of ways. Almost looks like a mirror !!!
..Even those amazingly long lugs keep that theme going there. VERY
nice sir ! ..As are the chrono pushers, and exceptional crown here. Can
honestly see how comfortable this must really be, like you are saying.
It's what is known as SUPER smooth ! cheers ..Even the manner in which
that gray from the sub-dials extends over onto the chapter rings is a
phenomenal touch. It's neat how all the hash marks look there as well !
Yowza ! What a GREAT job they did with that ! ..Same goes for those
thin and long markers. They are REALLY something to see if you ask me,
and the black hands just seem like the perfect addition to the look
of those markers. While that second hand's racing feel speeds things
up with just the right amount of sport. ..By the way, thanks for the
insight into that being like the older vintage Autavias, and Breitlings
Waruilewi ! ..That's really interesting to learn ! study ..Want to add that
the lume on this Tag Heuer is very attractive as well. It glows EXTREMELY
brightly, but those dots, and hands help add a subtle charm, which matches
the feel of the watch. Even the strap with the tiny holes in it adds a final
flawless touch ! Congrats to you on re-finding this one again ! ..Keep
ENJOYING it sir !!!

REALLY Nice watch, ship and pics here !

Interesting story...

Now that you have found it again, do you think you will be keeping it or putting it up for sale (based on its residence for over a year)?

Keep coming back to this thread, the watch is simple the best of the late 60's with an updated flair. Love the two eye chrono and the dark sub dials play so well off the silver dial. Most diffently auto inspired and i really see Breitling styling in this classic timepiece, even though its only 40mm with that big dial i'm sure it plays at least 42mm on the wrist. A true piece worthy of grail status and i would try real hard to get that bad-boy into your rotation! I prefer this two-eyed look (2894) on this watch vs the 7750 layout.

I would love to own that watch.....

You know I might sell it before the year's over - my wife just went nuts during the black Friday sales and the CC bill will not be far behind...
