Recently acquired an Artego Sea King 2000m Dive watch.
Yellow dial, limited edition , numbered case back of 51/200
Here is my initial reactions to it and some pics, and in a couple of days I will do a more in depth review of it, after I wear it awhile , check out the lume, see the feel of it, etc.
First impressions.
It came in a wonderfully packed box. It was a white box, bubbled wrapped inside of a fed ex package, and it was very well packed and secured.
The actual watch box, is a great travel case storage box, that will definitley see some use, and it came wrapped like a mummy , the watch on one side, and the 2 straps, one brown leather, and one Breitling styled rubber strap. Very nice.
The watch.
It is listed as 44 mm on the site, but I think that is way off, it might actually be a 45mm, and with the long lugs and crown guards and how thick this watch is, it wears like a 47-48mm, no problem.
It has a great fit and finish too it. It is completley brushed all over , and it feels satin smooth.
The crystal is a domed crystal with AR coating on the inside, and there are no rough edges between the crystal and the bezel. The yellow of the dial is a taxi cab yellow, and it is a very pleasing color and a nice contrast to the orange minute hand and black hour hand. The date wheel is done in black with white numbering and is very easy to read.
The crown is extremely solid and has a great grip to it and feel, and when setting the watch, it is a very solid and smooth turn, just very nice quality.
The bezel is a very smooth bezel, not too hard to turn and not too loose, and of course is a lumed bezel as well.
The bracelet is a 5 link bracelet that is very comfortable, with a divers clasp with flip lock and divers extension, and it has 2 half links as well and it uses screws for the bracelet. Very nice bracelet.
The extra straps that came with it are very nice , I dont know if I will be switching it off to the straps anytime soon, but I think If I do it will be to the rubber, because I like the way the rubber looks, with the vent holes in it.
So far, my only negative about it, would be that the clasp and crown are not signed or have any logo at all.
The clasp just looks a little generic with no logo or signature.
So far that is my only complaint.
As I said, I will do a more in depth review next week, after I have worn it for the next couple of days, and will report back on the fit and feel, how well it is keeping time, how well the lume is and my overall satisfaction for the watch.
Here are the specs from the website and my pictures.
I also have pictures of the watch sent to me by Robert Lex, owner of Artego Watches.
