What a SHARP looking watch Thian ! Very Happy ..It has such an elegant look with the way the
bezel is done, along with just the overall size, and shape of the case. Unbelievably nice
brushing on that case, bracelet, as well as dial too by the way ! Ricoh really did a great
job with this one sir. New old stock RICOH from the 60s ...homage to... 803574 Congratulations to you !!! ..Have to first mention that this bezel
style is extremely cool Thian. It's just neat seeing how the metal is shaped like this. The
pattern is very intriguing if you stare at it, and I think it honestly sets the tone for the
classy watch that this Ricoh is ! Not only does it look incredibly elegant, but it also seems
to reflect light in a unique way. So there is yet another interesting part about the bezel.
Plus if you stop, and think about it, the bezel even though noticeable is still very subtle,
and subdued. It has it's own impact on the watch, but nevertheless works to show off
the rest of the watch imho. For instance the dial ! ..Because the bezel isn't very big, it
helps to then put the dial front, and center. Allowing you to see all of what the dial has
to offer. One thing that I am noticing is that texture in the steel of the dial surface. It
has that excllent fan-like pattern going around it which really helps the watch look even
more elegant. The light gold color works perfectly also because it contrasts with the gold
used on those extra NICE markers. The way the markers are shaped is something to
see also sir. Wow !!! Each one of them has a three dimensional design which genuinely
seems to reach out at you, and you don't even need any glasses. Smile ..On top of that
some of them look a little different. For example the 6, along with 9 o'clock are much
wider, and set themselves apart flawlessly. They even manage to mirror the look of
the bezel imho, with the way they are shaped, but also reflect light. Great stuff once
again ! ..Hey, and how about those tiny lume dots ?! They are cool, and also seem to
be on the Rolex as well. Nice touch ! Have to also mention that the hands on the Ricoh
also ROCK. They have a much edgier, almost sword-like theme happening which is
really TERRIFIC. Honestly brings yet another level of elegance, along with smoothness
to it Thian. At the same time, it manages to give the watch it's very own twist on the
design. It's yet another cool detail with this sharp looking watch if you ask me sir.
Can't say enough either how great this day, and date look is. Seeing this style is very
eye-catching, as well as memorable. All of it is just excellent to be honest. From this
amazing bezel, to the smooth, elegant elements of the dial, this Ricoh really exudes
class. In addition it remembers small details also like the "17 Jewels shockresistant"
on the dial, or even that cool Ricoh emblem which bring that vintage theme to the
watch as well. New old stock RICOH from the 60s ...homage to... 46145 ..It's those small details added to the beauty, and quality of the
watch that makes the Ricoh so enjoyable. Just take a look at the bracelet for instance
with it's mix of inticate links, exceptional polishing, along with brushing. It's yet ONE
more piece, or aspect that makes this watch so SHARP looking ! ..Congrats once
again Thian, and I really hope you will enjoy !

Sharp watch, AND PIC !

Thanks, Tom! very nice review! haha! You made me aware of the coin edge bezel more! Yes, this Ricoh one slants down more than a Rolex and is less obtrusive, if that can be said. I test wore it, driving the wife to work and kept glancing at it, getting a feel for it on the wrist. SURE IS BLINGY hehehe! Since it is NOS, the brushing on the case/lugs is very notiiceable ...
During the 60s, Ricoh was the 4th Japanese watchmaker, Behind Seiko, Citizen, and Casio. Orient was around then too, I think. Seiko dominated the domestic market, so Orient and Ricoh seemed to have moved to foreign markets, as SE Asia, eastern Europe and South America.
Ricoh even ventured with the USA Hamilton to make electronic watches, in 1962, but could not compete in sales with Seiko, and ended this venture in 1965. Ricoh continued to make make watches, even some nice pro diver models. But, the writing was on the wall, and Ricoh eventually quit the watch side of its business and focused on its office supplies side.

You are welcome sir ! It's a beautiful watch, and definitely catches the eye that
is for sure. By the way, thank you very much for the insight into Ricoh's history
both then, and now. Smile Really wasn't sure if this was the same Ricoh that made
office supplies etc., but now I know. ..Also didn't know about their work with
Hamilton, or their fierce competion with Seiko, Citizen, Casio, and Orient ! study
Thanks again, and ..Enjoy !
