PostSubject: WHAT replaced my watches?   WHAT replaced my watches? Icon_minitimeSat May 26, 2012 11:09 am

So I was sitting here thinking of what I got with the money from selling many of my watches:

1. Monster gaming rig for myself and 43" monitor...
2. Monster gaming rig for my son...
3. Nice laptop for my wife...
4. 42" 1080p TV for the bedroom...
5. Blue Ray Player...
6. Sony Internet TV/Movie box...
7. Asus TF300 Android Tablet...

If it's not one toy it's another right?

Smile

But here's the difference: just try to sell any of those new "toys" for anywhere near what you paid for them.

The way I look at my watches (granted they are mostly vintage), is they are an investment generally appreciating in value. Not sure I can even say that about my 401(k). WHAT replaced my watches? 803574

My wife occasionally asks me to liquidate some of my collection to "contribute" to a family vacation, or an entertainment center, or whatever. Then I ask her to liquidate some of her retirement savings to flush down the toilet on these expenditures. Doesn't happen. My watches will be a source (albeit small) of retirement funds someday, but only if I refuse to flush them down the toilet! WHAT replaced my watches? 744742

In addition to the resale value of the watches in my current collection (below), I have another $10K+ in my watch "cash" account (from recent sales). Gotta just keep on building! Cool
