Another WUS F72 forum watch.....The GMT.

After a year long wait (This was the Chinese Mechanical Watch Forum 2014 forum watch....CMWF is F72 over at WUS) the GMT is finally here. The idea was a square GMT, we voted on dozens of options and dials etc. and this is what we came up with. Check out the awesome caseback with the timezones across the earth and the forum designation, year, and movement number. Thomas, our watchmaker in China was going to use a Seagull ST-16 but we had to switch to a Dixmont-Guangzhou DG3804B due to the other movement being phased out.


The watch is 37mm square with 20mm lugs and a flat sapphire crystal. Available in gray, cream, green and blue dials. A max of 200 were to be made but only 154 were sold, blue was the most popular at 57 sold and green the least at only 19 dials. My gray version sold 29 dials making it a fairly limited variant. Price was $210 plus shipping of choice. The Watchuseek logo is on the dial, buckle and crown.

I was able to secure a bracelet from Hong Kong due tot he kindness of one of the committee members, the standard unit came on a strap only.

Boy, WUS really hit it out of the park with this one Gary, and Thomas pulled out all the stops it
looks like ! Am still stunned at how nice the watch looks. I mean why couldn't a watch like
this be on the cover of one of the watch magazines or something? It's that nice !!!

I love how you guys decided to go with such a beautiful case design, along with dial. On the one
hand it's totally exciting, and almost other worldly with the extraordinary dial. Then on the other
hand you're getting this ultra cool Monaco vibe from the past. Can see how this design won out,
and became a reality. Just is too good Gary !

The movement sounds awesome too by the way, and even the bracelet completes the look in the
nicest of ways sir. Got to love the whole rareness factor as well. Holy cowza sir, this is so great to
learn about. Great that you got one too !!! Thanks so much for all of the insight, and a huge huge

Our 2016 project watch in F71 (my forum, Affordable watches) just sold out at 250 units. Project Spectre was a watch based on the Omegas that James Bond wore and is quite awesome! We are doing these projects all the time over at WUS in several different forums. You should join in the fun!! We still have 10 or so of the 2015 watch to sell.

Sounds like those things are selling like hot cakes Gary ! (Always wanted to say that.)

Yeah, you know I've been threatening to join there for a long time now, but just have never found the time
for one reason or another it seems. Sounds like you guys really have a ball over there though, and sure know
how to do these forum watches that's for sure.

Appreciate the info, along with story about all of this Gary. Also appreciate the invite sir !

I'm going to have to try to find my way over there some day.
