Define dive watch

Personally when I think Divers Watch I think unidirectional bezel, at least 200M WR, and very easy to read which usually means no more than 3 hands.

Isn't it a cool watch that guys STILL put their hand over if it's raining?

I start with Flame Fusion...then look for a "scuba" with a 100m WR


I guess that 200m is a good start...it is all relative, since none of us will dive to that depth...unless Alan and Trevor have plans to dive down with their Breitlings to 10000ft and didn't tell us!!!

A dive watch with 200m water resistance does sound good. It might
have an easy to read dial, with good lume or maybe if it's digital
should light up well. For us watch people..I think we really just enjoy
the watch itself. We might like the brand, or look and feel of a dive
watch !..It's funny because sometimes if you ever go on a dive site,
the watches they have are usually pretty inexpensive, plastic or rubber,
digital and not always that attractive. Nevertheless, it seems they do the
job for people ! If you are a watch person and don't dive..it's still fun
knowing you could dive to a certain depth with your watch. Even though
we may or may not want to even get the watch wet !

I've always thought this was quite an interesting topic.

I guess the real test is whether it can be used as a diving tool not just if it can "survive" at depth.

I don't dive myself so I have no experience using them in their intended by definition environment. To me most of the "dive" watches today are more about the style than the function.
