By the way, I just like to point out that being Douche of the Decade automatically makes JBHII The Douche of the Century!
That's something he can REALLY be proud of and should use in his forum signature

Now...

Who would you say has most POSITIVELY affected your WIS experience this decade?

I would have to say Cali Kid for me. I started noticing his collection really making a change, fewer watches, but some really GREAT watches.

Thanks Cali!

I will agree on that. His Diver collection is unsurpassed in my book. I droll every time I see that pic of them all laid out. Douche of the decade! - Page 2 Icon_cheers

I would have to say koimaster. I used to love to see shots of his collection and purchased my first non-tv brand from him....Stovard-Jurgenson with 2836-2 movement. A gorgeous dress watch. Thanks Alain!!!!

I guess that high-end rag... I mean, magazine he "writes" for won't expense his trip.

3T forum and Orsa watches are conected ?
Same guy ?

AFAIK, 3T is the official forum, but the owner of Orsa is some guy named Berg (don't know the first name but it must be out there). There is something more about their collaboration that happened sometime ago, but I don't have those details.

I got an email from him regarding this in 2008 when he started this program and then another one a month ago or so. I don't know if he had it in 2008 or not, but I was really surprised when I read the newsletter last month about contributing so he can go on trips. Seriously WTF.

I really liked the looks of the Orsa Monstrum, but after reviewing the specs I didn't feel like shelling out the 3 bills for a micro brand.

Not sure how small it is but $3 sounds good. Douche of the decade! - Page 2 Icon_scratch

As far as Orsa goes, I don't have any of their watches but I have seen some of their Monstrums (with ETA2824) go for 400+.

I had one with the Ronda Movement

I once went to this really far out of the way watch case maker in China, it was like in one of these Goverment build cities in the middle of nowhere .. I went in for a meeting to see what cases they might have had for sale and one of the samples they had was a Orsa

small world, not the best made watch in the world but you do get alot for the price ..

The Monstrums I have seen have the Miyota 21 jewel movement in them. Thus why I stated I wasn't entertaining $300 for one. I didn't know they made some with a Swiss ETA. Regardless at $400 for the Swiss ETA, I wouldn't have jumped either.

Just found about this thread from a post by Noah Fuller over on W&CF. I did not know that the WTF members were now going to have to pay for Basel trips etc.

I do know of at least one knife discussion forum that also charges fees to post in sales forums etc. Of course that site has about 60,000 members.

If any watch forum we to charge such a fee I would think it would be WUS as a whole lot of watches are bought and sold there.

I can't help but wonder who's idea charging this fee on WTF's was.

Besides I thought John bought a new BMW every couple years. So why would someone else need to pay his trip to Basel? I am pretty sure with the way their forum is set up as business its a tax write off as it is.

A link on the WUS Sales Forum takes you here: https://www.paypal.com/uk/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_flow&SESSION=i7U3h2zZoWJKoD3DFnwqAuVcvck2D1l15qmVDzWOlHHaWCXQm6dPpcFSgWq&dispatch=5885d80a13c0db1ffc45dc241d84e953ae3a912d7415d1a97451b677930c8a71

They're requesting donations for successful sales and/or purchases the way I interprete it.

The Dapper Douche wants to be a playa in the horological world. That has always been evident. And to become a playa on sucker money would make it even more sweet. But I'm sure his King will help him out.
