The part of this that pisses me off:

case, it was a set of Omega watches that were legally sold in Europe
(where Omega sells its watches at a much lower price than in the US)."
Maybe if they leveled the playing field, and sold them for the same price (aside from whatever slight increase would be appropriate for shipping/customs), there would be no need for a gray market....
