| Alan's watch photos have GOTTA be fake. Every one of the watches in his photos prompt drool to begin dripping down to my chin. So I do some research on that watch thinking, "I need one of those!" But then when I look at the manufacturer's photos and just about anyone else's photos of the same watch, it's like, "Hmmm...nice but not THAT great." So, does anyone else think Alan's been corking his camera??? | |

| He takes a lot of nice shots, and probably experiments quite a bit to get the effects he's looking for. I often see watches on the forums that look much nicer in a fine photo than the stock pictures a lot of sellers use. | |

Your shots are stunning ,as are the subjects. I do OK, but Alan's shots are ones I would find very difficult to duplicate, and they just "speak" to me!

| I wish I had some sort of creativity. All of my pics look the same, crappy. I could sure use some lessons. |

| PC..I think you guys all do a great job with taking pictures of watches to be honest ! Alan for example seems to get VERY detailed pictures where you can really feel the personality of the watches just by looking at the pics !..Everyone here has REALLY good skills as far as I can tell. It seems every time I take pictures..I end up taking TOO MANY ! Then it's hard picking from all of them..and the end result is average at best ! In any case..you seem to do a FINE job PC ! ____________________________________ | |

But when you take your numerous photos, experiment with different camera settings, different light sources, placement, and intensity, different watch positions, backgrounds, and props. You get the idea, right? I, too, discard 95 out of 100 shots I take. I'm not a photographer, just a plodder who 'lucks' into nice photos by taking a jillion of them!

Yes sir I am understanding the process more and more ! For a long time I never took pictures of watches. All I did was learn about them and once in while got one. Now I see that taking pictures of the watches can add even more to the hobby. It's a learning process..but it's FUN ! Thanks for the pointers ! ____________________________________
