Mido Datoday just back from service....

Just got my Mido Ocean Star Automatic Datoday back from service. I got this with the Seiko and Tissot I posted earlier, it had a loose cannon pinion so I had to send it for service before wearing. It's awesome!! Just like new, actually has the original caseback instuction sticker still in place. Not sure of the year (assume '70's) because the Ocean star has been made continuously since 1959 and has the 'Aquadura' sealing system, that seals even with the crown out. (Although I am not going to test it!!) The small writing on the side of case at 12 o'clock says " 24K Heavy Gold Electroplate 1-1/2/1000" Here are some pictures of the watch.....

Damn Gary, that looks like a brand new piece! Very nice. I really like the texture on the dial and the two-tone gold/black hands and hour markers just give it that RICH LOOK! Congratz and when you get tired of it...PM me for my address!

Glad you got it back. Mido makes a lot of watch for the price.

Whoa, it DOES look like new Gary ! A stunning watch sir !
Super dial with those faint vertical lines in the metal. Also think
the markers along with hands, are extra special too. It's nice the
way that they wrote Oceanstar and Datoday by the way ! What
an elegant case, as well as strap on this one also. Hey, those
case-back instructions are GREAT, plus they probably protect the
finish on the back ! ..Super watch Gary ! Congrats on this
one, and I hope you enjoy it !

Man those vintage watches have the COOLEST dials and markers!

They need to re-issue them in larger sizes and they would sell a TON!
