Warning: This ain't pretty...

So I am outside pulling those pesky vines down off the house that seem to grow back every 3-4 months no matter what I do...

I am up on a ladder, sideways to the house working directly to my right. I reach back a bit, so only see peripherally and try to pull some more vines before moving the ladder.

WTF, I feel a sharp STICK in my right hand? There are no thorns in this stuff. Next I hear buzzing like a freaking helicopter...WASPS NEST. Next I feel the sting on my FACE, just under my right eye. It hurt like a BIATCH. I jump down, look up, see about 25-30 wasps! Lucky I didn't get stung more than twice!

The sting happened around 10am, wanting to get done, I rinse my face off and keep going. Well by 2pm, I look like this!



Go to the walk in clinic, get a tetanus shot, steroid shot in the butt, and given like 3 pills to take!

My son was like the guys STING first and ask questions later...

You know what, Alan? If you could coax one of those little rascals into stinging you under the left eye, you would look like one very mean dude.

Jeez Alan, I hope you nuked their nest! I had a nest underground last year and they flew up and mobbed me when I was mowing the yard. I poured gas down their entry hole and threw in a match. Looked like the beach scene out of Apocalypse Now. They haven't come back either lol

That sucks! Hard to keep your composure when on a ladder. I used to install TV and Internet satellite dishes and got stung on a regular basis. I got mobbed while on a roof once with no where to run(didn't feel like jumping off) so I had to fight the little bastards off with my BB hat. Only got about 20 stings, mostly on the legs.
Getting stung on the face seems like it would hurt a bit. Hold a cold beer on it!
