What a TERRIFIC looking Seiko Thian !
Really seems to mix a clean, subtle coolness with
an aggressive sportiness, and the more you look at it, the more you find to enjoy !
It
has it all !!! Plus the whole solar theme is interesting as well. Alot of times when we think
of solar powered watches we think of Citizen with their Eco-Drive watches, but Seiko has
some great solar powered watches too it would seem by the looks of it. Congratulations
on adding this one to your collection sir ! Want to first say, that the case style, together
with the bezel look is extremely attractive. Again, it's very very clean, and cool, but there
is also some aggressiveness here as well. You can see the clean, cool, professional themes
in how the case is shaped. The way it bows outward so carefully, and surrounds the bezel
is particularly nice. There also seems to be a top notch finish with the steel as well Thian,
which is really excellent. It's neat how well the case shape works with the bezel also by
the way. Speaking of the bezel, this is where more of that classy, cool feel meets the
aggressive side of the watch. First you have those traditional, classic looking markings
along with numbers that jump out at you. Then you realize that the style is just a little
larger, and sporty in how those numbers, and markings actually look.
The shape of
the numbers is very eye-catching, but so is the craftsmanship, and how those numbers
are deeply etched into the metal. ..The dot markers do the same thing, which is also
FANTASTIC ! While the triangle marker, with lume pip at 12 o'clock couldn't look any
cooler with it's size, along with attention to detail. ..Even the bezel's edge has a real
impact on the feel of this one Thian. It definitely brings a little extra edge into the fold
with the look of the watch. Just the spacing alone of each one is noticeable in it's own
right, but the substantial size adds an intimidating feel also. What a GREAT job, and design
right there !!!
However, it doesn't seem to end there ! The dial is the next part of
the watch that impresses with it's own combination of class, and edge. You have that
dark gray/black color right from the beginning meeting the silver of the stainless steel
that is very hard to beat in a watch. It just helps to set off each, and every detail on
the dial even more imho. You can even appreciate the chapter ring with all of it's precise
markings, as well as overall width. It just looks perfect, and also makes it look like a
long way down to the dial surface. ..Staying with the dial surface for a while, it's neat
to see how Seiko again mixes in some more classy, yet aggressive accents. Just the
way you have that traditional feel with the dot markers, meeting up with those unique
12, 6, and 9 o'clock markers is AWESOME. The triangle theme on them, as well as the
chapter ring side walls is exceptional. It even seems to play off of the lume pip triangle
come to think of it. Wow !!!
Add in the whole solar theme Thian, along with
that stunningly cool strap, and this watch does, and has it all sir. Congratulations once
again, and as always ..enjoy !
Excellent watch, along with photo !
