Believe it or not, I have actually missed this place...

I have been thinking a lot lately about watches, how I first got into them and where I progressed (or digressed) in my passion for watches...

To try and keep this short, I started out buying a variety of watches, then got focused on Zodiacs, then got into the big name brands which if I am honest, priced me right out of watch collecting...

My budget could no longer afford another Breitling, Panerai, or the like, my income could not keep up with my new "watch snobbery" so my collecting kind of stopped...

This past Christmas I bought a Wenger for $129 and guess what, it felt real good!

I have my Avenger Seawolf and it will be the watch I hang onto forever...

Will my collection ever get up to 140+ watches like I had before, I really doubt it, but I think I am back to the mindset of, buy a watch I like, for me, and not to impress anyone but me...

For me half the fun was taking pics so hopefully I can get back into that again as well...

Anyway, thanks to all who have continued to vist XMT and I hope to be around more in the future...

Good to have you back Alan!! cheers I can feel your pain....after buying a B&M, RGM and a Rolex......I have not bought anything new since January. I am enjoying what I have (OK it's a friggin' lot) and trying to figure out where to go from here.

Well, my last watch purchase cost me $2500 (Speedmaster), so I have stopped the collection and trying to enjoy what I have. So far, it is working.....no more watches!

Missed seeing you around the place Alan. Welcome back ! Smile

Think it's interesting to hear how there are different stages to this, or any
hobby for that matter. You are bound to find those peaks, and valleys in
what interests you at times. It's just natural really. In the end, it's basically
just about having fun, and if you have more than one interest that's even
more enjoyable.

Welcome back once again Alan. Looking forward to more of your pictures
in the future by the way. My CURRENT watch mindset... 803574 ..Keep enjoying !
